Creating The Circular Carbon Economy
Afvalverwerking circulair organiseren, betekent dat van afval opnieuw een grondstof wordt gemaakt. Op de voormalige composteringsinstallatie in Schendelbeke (Geraardsbergen) ontwikkelt ILvA samen met sociaal economiebedrijf Pro Natura/Kiemkracht en met de steun van de Provincie Oost-Vlaanderen een biomassahub. Op deze plek krijgen innovatieve ideeën over de circulaire afvalinzameling en -verwerking vorm: van kerstboom tot houtchips en polyfenolen, van bermmaaisel tot vezels, van houtig groenafval via pyrolyseren tot biochar en warmte. Op deze dag tonen we hoe we samen groenafval circulair, lokaal en sociaal een nieuw leven kunnen geven.
Organizing waste processing in a circular way means turning waste into a raw material again. At the former composting plant in Schendelbeke (Geraardsbergen), ILvA is developing a biomass hub together with social economy company Pro Natura/Kiemkracht and with the support of the Province of East Flanders. This is where innovative ideas about circular waste collection and processing take shape: from Christmas trees to wood chips and polyphenols, from roadside clippings to fibres, from woody green waste via pyrolysis to biochar and heat. On that day we will show how together we can give green waste a new life in a circular, local and social way.
