Challenges in Ireland
A key topic of discussion was the deteriorating water quality in Ireland, particularly in river ecosystems. As this issue becomes more pressing, partners explored potential solutions, including the role of biochar applications in improving water management. The conversation focused on possible joint efforts and how CASCADE’s expertise in circular carbon solutions could contribute to addressing this challenge.
Expanding Networks and Strengthening Collaboration
Since the start of the project, network building has remained a core priority. During the meeting, partners discussed ongoing efforts to expand collaborations, ensuring broader engagement and greater impact for the CASCADE project. In addition to thematic discussions, the meeting covered essential project management topics, including financial updates, upcoming tasks, and event planning. One of the key points on the agenda was the preparations for reveal16, scheduled to take place in Göttingen in September 2024. The partners aligned their planning to ensure the event will be a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and engagement within the circular economy community.
