Biochar Needed: The total amount of biochar in tonnes needed for the application on the selected area. 1 cubic metre of plaster at 20mm depth will need 20 l of plaster mix. Biochar weighs 300 g per litre.

Biochar Cost: The expected total cost in € for the needed amount of biochar of the selected type.

CO₂e emission reduction: This adjusts the tons of biochar by the correction rate for the application in a construction material (where > 95% is expected to remain after 100 years), and then multiplies it by 3.67 to give the weight of CO₂ (When two oxygen atoms bind to a carbon atom, the combined mass of the carbondioxide molecule is 3.67 times that of the carbon atom on its own.

CO₂e emissions reduction by using clay plaster instead of conventional gypsum plaster: Assumption: A wall is treated with a 10 mm coat of gypsum plaster with 1 x 3 mm finishing skim. This generates 1.73 kg of CO₂e/m2. Gypsum plaster does not reabsorb CO₂ during its life cycle. A clay plaster of similar thickness will generate 1.19kg of CO₂e/m2, resulting in a reduction of 0.54 kg CO₂e/m2.
